About: My day job is director of market development and communications for the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation. My "fun job" is helping to run the Business Innovation Factory.
In addition to overseeing RIEDC's market development and communications activities, I have the priviledge of overseeing our innovation programming, including program management for the Rhode Island Science and Technology Advisory Council.
Prior to joining to returning to Rhode Island in 2004, I served as Assistant Director of Communications and Public Affairs for Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where I spent six years managing various components of Whitehead’s science communication and outreach efforts. I was one of the lucky people who got to work on the completion of the human genome project and its public communication.
My graduate degree is in science and technical communications (from Northeastern, graduated in 2002).
I love this community and am very committed to making Rhode Island an even better place to live and work. I've been with BIF from the beginning and consider myself lucky to be involved with activities like the Summit.
